Pregnancy Recommendations: Easy Month to Month Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy

Pregnancy Recommendations: Month One –

Acupuncture treatment should occur once per week.

  • Eat light, bland, warm, nutrient-dense food (fresh fruits and veggies, etc.)
  • Eat small portions
  • Sour food is OK
  • Avoid Spicy food
  • Ginger can calm the stomach (tea, slice, candy, ale, …)
  • Rest and sleep more
  • Avoid excessive physical activity (easy walking is OK)
  • No intercourse
  • No exposure to excessive cold or windy environments
  • Mother should begin taking Essential Fatty Acids – FISH OILS, and this should continue throughout the pregnancy.  Nordic Naturals ProDHA or Omega for Pregnancy

 

Pregnancy Recommendations: Month Two

Acupuncture treatment should occur once per week

  • Eat light, bland, warm, nutrient-dense food (fresh fruits and veggies, etc.)
  • Eat small portions
  • Sour food is OK
  • Avoid Spicy food
  • Ginger can calm the stomach (tea, slice, candy, ale, …)
  • Rest and sleep more
  • Avoid gas-forming foods
  • Avoid excessive physical activity (easy walking is OK)
  • No exposure to excessive cold or windy environments
  • Meditation is recommended to calm the mind
  • No swimming in cold water

 

Pregnancy Recommendations: Month Three – Happy Baby Month

Acupuncture treatment should occur once per week

  • Eat light, bland, warm, nutrient-dense food (fresh fruits and veggies, etc.)
  • Eat small portions
  • Sour food is OK
  • Avoid Spicy food
  • Ginger can calm the stomach (tea, slice, candy, ale, …)
  • Rest and sleep more
  • Avoid excessive physical activity (easy walking is OK)
  • No exposure to excessive cold or windy environments
  • Meditation is recommended to calm the mind
  • Avoid negative influences – such as reading newspaper, and watching TV news and watching disturbing movies, if these make you upset.

 

 

Pregnancy Recommendations: Month Four

Acupuncture treatments should be received every 2 weeks

  • Moderation of all things (no excessive eating, no excessive sitting, no excessive sleeping, no excessive exercise)
  • Remain calm
  • Eat rice, fish and wild goose to strengthen the fetus and to enhance the formation of the eyes and ears.
    • Note:  Be careful what fish you eat, whenever possible wild fish is the best.  Please refer to www.gotmercury.org for mercury levels in fish.

 

Pregnancy Recommendations: Month Five

Acupuncture treatments should be received once a month

  • Eat wheat, beef, and lamb
  • Balance sweet with sour foods, and bitter with salty
  • Sleep longer

 

Pregnancy Recommendations: Month Six – Happy Baby Month

Acupuncture treatment should be received once per month

  • Do Light exercise and get outdoors occasionally
  • Watch animals running and eat meat to develop the fetus’s sinews
  • Eat few sweet foods
  • Begin taking Natren – Life Start Probiotics to increase the fetus’s immune system and strengthen the fetus’s digestive system

 

Pregnancy Recommendations: Month Seven

Acupuncture treatment should be received once a month

  • Avoid crying and shouting
  • Avoid cold foods and eat rice to nourish the fetus’s bones and teeth
  • Wear adequate clothing and don’t bathe too often to avoid weakening the immune system
  • Continue with Natren Life Start Probiotics

 

Pregnancy Recommendations: Month Eight – The fetus’s 9 orifices are fully developed

Acupuncture treatment should be received once every two weeks

  • Avoid emotional upset
  • Practice calm breathing
  • Avoid dry spicy food and food that smells like fish

  • If Heart burn and acid regurgitation occurs, please try taking small amounts of liquid calcium as needed.  Also try sleeping with pillows raising you up.

 

Pregnancy Recommendations: Month Nine

Acupuncture treatment should be received once every two weeks

  • Avoid eating many sweet foods and avoid damp places to counteract water retention and edema
  • Wear loose clothing that does not constrict the fetal development
  • Avoid large meals
  • Avoid overexertion to reduce breathlessness and palpitations.

Pregnancy Recommendations: Month Ten

Acupuncture treatments should be received one to two times per week

  • Eat light meals
  • Take frequent naps interspersed with short walks and mild stretching
  • Mentally prepare for labor

Continue with the Natren Life Start Probiotics while Nursing and throughout the first one year of life.  This can be taken throughout the baby’s childhood for digestive problems and for a general immune system tonic.
