Menstrual Irregularities

menstralWomen experience many different types of gynecological disorders without knowing that it is not necessary to tolerate these imbalances. Many discomforts of the Menses cycle can be treated to allow the menses to be completely comfortable and symptom free.

A regular menstrual cycle is usually between 24 to 32 days, somewhat painless, moderate blood flow of three to five days with minor emotional and physical discomfort, before, during and after.

Women in our society frequently experience “painful periods” of extreme heavy bleeding or spotting, extreme fatigue, lower back pain, headaches and/or dizziness. All of these show imbalances with the menstrual system and have been traditionally treated using Oriental Medicine.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a disease that has very limited treatment options in conventional medicine. Patients usually suffer greatly with limited choices of treatment consisting mainly of birth control pills, pregnancy or surgery.

Certain Chinese herbal formulas and Acupuncture treatments have been documented to reduce the growth of Endometriosis. In Oriental Medicine, Endometriosis is considered to be an obstruction of Blood and is treated by reducing pain and treating the underlying cause which may differ in individuals.

Fibroids & Cysts:

In Oriental Medicine, Fibroids and Cysts are considered to be an accumulation of either qi, blood, or phlegm or some combination of the three. The underlying constitutional problem needs to be addressed as well, in order to prevent condition from reoccurring. It can be treated very effectively with Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture.
