Background

Dr. Marian Edelbrock was born in Scotland, and has been a resident of San Diego for 24 years where she has a private practice sharing a roof with colleagues who work in Reproductive Wellness, specializing in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Dr. Edelbrock's work in psychology began in England, but she completed her Masters and Doctorate at USIU (now Alliant University), San Diego. Since licensure, she has gained experience in many varied work settings, including inpatient and outpatient hospital programs, EAP, women’s issues including infertility, eating disorders, pain management, substance abuse, adolescent treatment, couples and family work.

With patient treatment and care, Dr. Edelbrock believes in the importance of the mind-body connection and in seeing individuals in their social context. She is trained in a range of psychotherapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic and interpersonal, integrated with relaxation, meditation and guided imagery.

On a personal note, Dr. Edelbrock shares, "I can relate to the tortuous infertility path having spent over 10 years on a capricious route undergoing the full gamut of treatments including multiple IVF attempts, without knowing that I would eventually be rewarded with two wonderful boys. I know personally the pain of this journey. I value my family life, sharing it with a husband, my boys and a dog, and I am dedicated to helping others reach their goal of building their family as quickly as possible with the minimum of emotional distress."
